Treatment Stages

For best results, Funghiclear should be applied twice per day, everyday, until the nail has completely regrown. Nail Fungus can exist even when all visible signs are clear.

With the Phase Map, you compare and track which 5 phases your nail is in and developing, which can be helpful to know while applying Funghi Clear ™

Observe the affected nail and the surrounding skin and rate it from 1 to 5 by referring to the illustrations and descriptions below, and matching the nail to the phase it most closely matches.

Phase 1

Phase1
  • Skin and cuticle area: Redness around the nail walls and cuticles, thickened cuticles (affected nail matrix), thickened nail bed under the nails, may feel painful. The overall condition of the foot skin is poor.
  • Colour of the nail: Variable colour from white, yellowish to dark brown discoloration.
  • Structure of the nail: Thickened nail, brittle, with cracks and / or deformations.
  • Progress in outgrowth: No healthy outgrowth or severely stunted growth.

Phase 2

Phase 2

  • Skin and cuticle area: Redness of the nail sulcus and cuticles, thickened cuticles (affected nail matrix). The overall condition of the foot skin is moderate.
  • Colour of the nail: Nail colour is fairly consistent, and dark yellowish.
  • Structure of the nail: Part of the nail shows an improvement in structure (often at the base of the cuticles), a large part is still brittle, deformed and / or thickened at the end of the nail.
  • Progress in outgrowth: No healthy outgrowth or stunted growth.

Phase 3

Phase 3

  • Skin and cuticle area: No or only minimal redness on nail bags and cuticles. The overall condition of the foot skin is tolerable.
  • Colour of the nail:Nail colour is evenly spread and consistent. Expected to have a calm yellow-beige colour.
  • Structure of the nail: A firm and solid nail structure, with virtually no chipping or tearing of the nail.
  • Progress in outgrowth: An initial outgrowth is noticeable, although it is still minimal.

Phase 4

Phase 4

  • Skin and cuticle area: No redness around the cuticles and nail sulcus. These are normal in colour and shape. The overall foot skin condition is good.
  • Colour of the nail: The (new) outgrowth of the nail is bright, the affected part is still somewhat yellowish.
  • Structure of the nail: The (new) outgrowth shows a normal structure (sometimes with a tangible ridge). The still affected nail part does not thicken and grows out.
  • Progress in outgrowth: The healthy outgrowth reaches the lateral sides of the nail bed and adheres well to the nail bed itself.

Phase 5

Phase 5

  • Skin and cuticle area: Cuticles and nail walls are of normal colour and shape. The matrix displays a half moon appearance. The overall condition of the foot skin is good.
  • Colour of the nail: The (new) outgrowth of the nail is bright, while the remainder of the affected part (distal) is somewhat yellowish.
  • Structure of the nail: The nail outgrowth has a firm structure and adheres well to the nail bed again.
  • Progress in outgrowth: The outgrowth remnants are no longer thickened and is expected to grow out. The nail bed is also no longer thickened.
